Required Identification
Before you apply, start with these required documents.
Valid U.S. government-issued photo ID (e.g., state-issued driver’s license)
Social Security card or number (SSN)
Proof of income (see Personal Information below)
Personal Information
Speed up your application by preparing at least one of the following documents before you begin.
Please note: We only accept PDF file attachments. You can download the necessary document directly from your bank or payroll provider’s website.
If you earn an Hourly Wage / Commission
Provide either:
- your most recent paystub, or
- your most recent monthly bank statement.
Additional documents may be requested.
Please note: Joint bank accounts can only be used if all account holders apply as leasholders. We cannot accept Prepaid and PayPal accounts. Tax refunds cannot be used as monthly income.
If you earn a Salaried Wage
Provide either:
- your most recent paystub, or
- one (1) current month’s worth of full bank statements.
Additional documents may be requested.

If you are Self-employed
Provide one (1) current month’s worth of full bank statements.

If you receive Social Security
We will accept a Social Security statement or benefit letter.
If you primarily use a Savings Account
Provide a detailed record of all transactions showing an average ending balance of at least three (3) times the total rent due for the full lease term. For example, if monthly rent is $1,000 on a 12‑month lease, your average ending balance must be at least $36,000.

Credit & Background Check
By submitting a lease application with Rentyl Homes, you agree to a credit and background check.
Authorization
As an Applicant, you authorize Rentyl Homes and our authorized agents to conduct any background or credit checks Rentyl Homes or our agents deem necessary. This may include obtaining one or more credit reports before your lease begins, during the lease term, and after the lease ends for purposes of collecting any rent, fees, or charges owed. You acknowledge that requesting such reports may affect your credit score and expressly consent to the same.
Use of Information
The information provided in your application or obtained through the authorization granted by you will not be sold or shared with outside parties. However, Rentyl Homes and our authorized agents may use this information to determine the your eligibility to lease the Property and for any purposes related to a future lease agreement between the parties, including its enforcement.

Reason for Denial
If your application is denied, Rentyl Homes or our authorized agent will provide the reason for denial within 10 days and upon written request.

Any falsification of information in an Applicant’s paperwork will result in automatic denial of the Application. If an Applicant provides falsified documents or information, Rentyl Homes reserves the right to retain all deposits and fees paid and apply them toward liquidated damages.

How is my personal information stored?
Our identity verification system lets you securely submit your information remotely. To complete the process, you’ll need to take a photo of a valid U.S. government‑issued ID and a selfie. We take your privacy seriously and store your information securely to help protect your identity.
What if I tried to verify my ID but it’s not working?
Please make sure you entered your accurate legal information and that the photo you’re uploading is clear and fully within the frame on your device. If you continue to experience any issues, please contact us.
